Privacy Policy · HushVault

Overview
This privacy policy applies specifically to the iOS app “HushVault” (the “App”). It explains how we handle information when you use the App.
HushVault helps you privately remember where you put important things at home and find them again later. It is built with a privacy-first, local-first approach: the App is designed to work without accounts, advertising, analytics SDKs, tracking, or cloud sync.
Data Collection and Use
We do not collect data from this App in the App Store privacy sense: HushVault does not transmit personal data to us, to our servers, or to third parties.
In particular:
- We do not collect your name, email address, or contact information.
- We do not run third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- We do not track your usage across apps or websites.
- We do not upload your photos, records, locations, notes, or tags to our servers.
The App stores your records locally on your device so the product can work. That local, on-device storage is described below and is not transmitted to us. This matches the App Store privacy declaration for HushVault: Data Not Collected.
Camera and Photos
HushVault may ask for camera access so you can take a photo of where an item is stored, and for photo library access so you can import an existing picture instead.
- Photos are processed and stored on your device.
- Photos are not sent to any third-party AI service or cloud server for recognition.
- Any image-similarity assistance used to help you find records runs on your device only.
Local Records
When you save an entry, HushVault stores it locally on your device. A record can include information such as:
- A photo of the item or its location
- An optional title, room or place, and tags
- Optional private notes
- Reminder settings and verification status
These records stay on your device unless you choose to export a backup yourself. HushVault does not automatically sync these records to us or to a cloud service.
Reminders and Notifications
HushVault can schedule optional local reminders to help you re-verify items.
- Reminders are turned off by default and are scheduled locally on your device.
- Notifications are designed for low exposure: they do not include your titles, locations, tags, photos, or other sensitive details.
Manual Backups
HushVault provides a manual backup and restore feature. Backup files are controlled by you and are created only when you choose to export them.
- Each backup is a single, password-protected file that you export yourself.
- The backup password is set by you and is required to restore the data.
- HushVault does not sync backups automatically.
- If you save a backup to iCloud, Files, AirDrop, email, or another service, that is a user-initiated export handled by the service you choose.
App Lock and Low-Exposure Design
HushVault is designed to keep sensitive content from being exposed unintentionally.
- You can manually lock the App. Unlocking uses Face ID / Touch ID and falls back to your device passcode.
- While locked, the App does not show your home screen content, search results, or record details.
- When the App moves to the background, its content is blurred or masked.
These features run on your device and do not send any data to us.
No Accounts, Ads, Analytics, or Tracking
HushVault does not require an account. The App does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking SDKs.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties. Because the App does not collect personal data, there is no user data for us to sell or share.
Terms and EULA
Your use of the App is also governed by Apple’s standard End User License Agreement (EULA) for apps downloaded from the App Store:
