Overview
This privacy policy applies specifically to the iOS app “TravelBrain” (the “App”). It explains how we handle personal information when you use the App.
The core philosophy of the App is to be simple, useful, and respectful of your data. TravelBrain is designed as an on-device travel planner that does not require a user account or developer-operated cloud storage.
Data Collection and Use
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data from our users.
The App is designed to function on your device. Data you create within the App — including travel inspirations, itineraries, imported images, recognition results, and settings — remains in the App unless you explicitly export, share, or back it up.
To be clear:
- We do not collect your name, email address, or any other contact information from inside the App.
- We do not track your location or usage habits.
- We do not have access to the travel plans or inspirations you create.
Smart Import, Camera, Photos, Paste, and Share Extension
TravelBrain 2.0 includes Smart Import. You can deliberately provide one item at a time by taking a photo, choosing a photo, pasting supported content, or sharing supported content from another app.
- Text recognition and field suggestions run on your device using Apple’s Vision framework. Imported content is not uploaded to us or to a third-party recognition service.
- Recognition results are suggestions and may be incomplete. You review and can edit the suggested fields before anything is saved to your travel data.
- A temporary high-resolution version may be prepared in memory for recognition and is discarded when processing finishes. A locally stored version of an imported image may remain with the item so that you can review it later.
- TravelBrain does not read your email, scan your photo library in the background, perform continuous camera scanning, or automatically save recognized travel details.
- The Share Extension places shared content in a pending queue. The main app does not add it to a trip until you open and review it.
Camera access is requested only when you choose to take a photo. Photo selection uses Apple’s system photo picker. You can review or change app permissions in iOS Settings.
Notifications and Live Activities
The App can send local notifications and show Live Activities to help you remember your travel schedule and see progress on your Lock Screen or Dynamic Island.
- Notifications and Live Activities are optional and are controlled by you in iOS Settings.
- Notification content is generated on-device and is not sent to any external servers.
If you prefer not to receive notifications or Live Activities, you can turn them off in iOS Settings at any time.
Manual Backup and Restore
The App provides an optional backup and restore feature through Apple’s system document picker. This feature is entirely user-initiated:
- Backups are triggered manually by you and saved to the location you choose, such as iCloud Drive or Files.
- We do not have access to, nor do we store, any of your backup data on our servers.
- Restoring from backup is also a manual operation controlled by you.
If you choose iCloud Drive or another storage provider, the backup is also governed by that provider’s terms and privacy policy.
In-App Purchases
The App offers an optional TravelBrain Pro (Lifetime) upgrade as a one-time purchase. There is no recurring subscription. All payment transactions are processed securely by Apple through the App Store.
We do not collect, receive, or store any of your payment information. Billing details are handled entirely by Apple.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties.
Because the App does not collect personal data, there is no data to share with advertisers, analytics providers, or other external services.
TravelBrain can export itinerary data as JSON. The App does not automatically send that export to an AI service or any other external service. If you choose to copy, share, or paste an export into another service, that service’s privacy policy applies to the information you provide.
Analytics and Advertising
The App does not include third-party analytics SDKs or advertising SDKs. There is no embedded tracking code from external providers.
Terms and EULA
Your use of TravelBrain is also governed by Apple’s standard End User License Agreement (EULA) for apps downloaded from the App Store.

Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page.
Your continued use of the App after changes are posted will constitute your acknowledgment of the new policy.
